Tian Lu received her PhD in analytical chemistry from the Ohio State University where she developed novel nanomaterials as stationary phases for liquid chromatography and substrates for MALDI MS applications. After graduation she joined Ashland Inc. as a staff scientist in the measurement science department and used LC and LC-MS to support polymer material development for personal care products. Then she joined Merck vaccine analytical R&D as a senior scientist. Her work is mainly focused on use of separation and biochemistry-based analytical techniques for characterization of large molecules and excipients to support new vaccine process and formulation development.
