Dr. Ryan Karsner, MD is a Medical Officer in the Virology 2 Branch of the Division of Microbiology Devices, Office of Health Technology 7: Office of In Vitro Diagnostics and Radiological Health, Center for Devices and Radiological Health, in the U. S. Food & Drug Administration. The majority of his work in the last year has been related to the regulation of SARS-CoV-2 in vitro diagnostic devices, particularly binding and neutralizing antibody devices. Dr. Karsner attended medical school at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and also serves as clinician at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
