Hristo graduated as a Pharmacist at the Medical University of Sofia in 2012. He later worked as a scientist for a German biotech company. In 2016, Hristo won a Marie Curie fellowship and did his PhD studies with Prof. Gerhard Winter at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In 2019 he defended his thesis with summa cum laude, winning the AbbVie prize and the Carl-Wilhelm-Scheele of the German Pharmaceutical Society for his work. Since January 2020, Hristo has been a postdoctoral researcher with a Peter and Traudl Engelhorn Fellowship in the group of Prof. Johannes Buchner at the Technical University of Munich. Hristo's interests are in the field of engineering, analytical characterization and accelerated development of biotherapeutics.
