Christian Neusüß

Aalen University

Christian Neusüß studied chemistry in Heidelberg (Germany) and Bergen (Norway). He received his PhD from Leipzig University in 2000 working on the analysis of aerosol particles at the Institute for Tropospheric Research in Leipzig. After 5 years of development and application on ion trap and time-of-flight mass spectrometry at Bruker Daltonik in Leipzig and Bremen he became 2006 a professor of general and analytical chemistry at Aalen University. Since 2009 he is dean of the new developed master course “Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry”. Important applications of capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (CE-MS) for glycan and intact protein characterization have been developed, useful especially in the biopharmaceutical context. Today, his research interests focus on developments and applications of mass spectrometry coupled to miniaturized separation techniques. A strong focus lies on technical and methodological improvements of CE-MS, including two-dimensional separations. Christian Neusüß is author/co-author of about 100 peer-reviewed publications, several patents and numerous invited contributions at scientific conferences.
