| Dr. Xu Zhang obtained his MSc and PhD degrees in microbiology from Lanzhou University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, respectively. He then obtained his postdoctoral training at the University of Ottawa on proteomics and mass spectrometry. His research has been focusing on the intestinal microbiota and their roles in diseases and therapeutic efficacies. Currently he is leading a research team consisting of chemists and biologists at Health Canada to develop high resolution mass spectrometry-based analytical methods and bio-functional assays to evaluate microbiota-directed therapeutics. |
