Rodney Combs is a group leader in Pfizer Inc.’s Bioprocess R&D group located in Saint Louis, MO where he leads a group of scientists involved in late stage mammalian cell culture process and technology development focused primarily in the area of MAbs. More recently he has been responsible for leading the Pharmaceutical Science’s COVID-19 mRNA vaccine drug substance team responsible for process development, scale-up, process characterization, regulatory filing and tech transfer of the mRNA DS process to commercial manufacturing. Rodney’s 30+ years of industrial experience encompasses development of several recombinant expression platform systems including CHO, NS0, HEK, Baculovirus Insect Cell Culture, E.coli and yeast.
