Dr. Hiroyuki Arai is currently Executive Director & Director of Center for Product Evaluation, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA). He was previously professor of Department of Health Chemistry, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at University of Tokyo (2000-2019). There, he has also served as a dean (2016-2018). He has oversea experiences at University of Illinois (1984-1986) and Tufts University, Medical School (1986-1988). He graduated and received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Tokyo in 1984.
