Geeta Jotwani

Geeta Jotwani is Senior Deputy Director General at Indian Council of Medical Research, Govt of India. She has over 35 years of combined experience in R&D, management of biomedical research with country-wide impact and significant global experience in Genomics & Molecular Medicine, Stem Cell Research & Therapy (SCRT), Nanomedicine, Gene Therapy and Immunotherapy. Her core focus has been promotion of biomedical research and strategic development of guidelines, policies, and regulations to inculcate scientific and ethical practices, alongside increasing awareness and educating stakeholders regarding the status of emergent technologies, Over the years she has extensively worked with and led developments at various institutes across India. Her responsibilities included managing a diverse portfolio of grants, overseeing the implementation of infrastructure enhancements and capacity building, formulating, and updating policies, and supporting funding partnerships. She is passionate about community outreach and educating different stakeholders including patient groups and their families about the state of emergent technologies.
