CE PHARM 2020: CE IN THE BIOTECHNOLOGY & PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIES
A new class of therapeutics has emerged in recent years, in which the core genetic information of a diseased patient can be changed or replaced. This therapy, called gene therapy, harnesses not only leading-edge genetic manipulation tools (i.e. CRISPR/Cas9) but also innovative delivery mechanisms that include lipid nanoparticles and live viruses.
The research and development requirements for gene therapy candidates are not that different from other biotherapeutics. To fully characterize these complex molecules, you need analytical instrumentation that you can rely on to make informed, accurate decisions. You still need speed, accuracy, and flexibility to support both characterization and release requirements. In this technical seminar, we will discuss various capillary electrophoresis solutions that can be easily implemented along the development path to support gene therapy development.
Imaged capillary isoelectric focusing (iCIEF) is widely used for protein charge heterogeneity analysis during development and manufacturing of biotherapeutic drugs…
