Varnika Roy
Varnika Roy, PhD, works as a Vice President, Global Head Platform Sciences at GSK enabling higher-quality clinical development by delivering predictive clinical pharmacology models, validated bioanalytics, safeguarded and reusable samples, and design assurance across the development enterprise. Prior to this role Varnika was Vice President, Head of Analytical and Materials Science in MSAT – Global Supply Chain at GSK. Varnika has also had several roles in GSK Vaccines Development-Head of Global Bioassays Development and CMC Team Lead for early and late-stage CMC teams for mRNA and subunit recombinant protein vaccine development and took products through Phase 1-3 of clinical development such as RSV . Before joining GSK, Varnika was a Senior Scientist at MedImmune (Astrazeneca) in the Cell Culture and Fermentation Sciences department. Varnika received a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Maryland College Park and had multiple lead author publications. Varnika is currently the Chair of the Meetings & Expositions committee for the American Chemical Society and councilor of American Chemical Society’s Biochemical Technology (BIOT) Division. In 2024 she was designated an ACS fellow.
