Dr. Jingzhong (Tim) Guo is currently a Senior Scientist and Team Lead in Global Biologics at United States Pharmacopeia (USP). Dr. Guo holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Shandong University in China. After postdoctoral training at York University in Canada, he started to focus his interests on method development and applications of various analytical technologies. He is the co-author of about 60 publications and a peer reviewer for several scientific journals. Before joining USP, Dr. Guo worked with several pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical companies including MethylGene, Boehringer Ingelheim, Novavax and Solid Biosciences. In the past 20 years, Dr. Guo has been applying liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry for supporting development of pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical products including small molecular drugs, protein biomarkers, peptide and protein biotherapeutics, mAbs, vaccines and AAV gene therapy products. His current interest is applying mass spectrometry and other cutting-edge analytical technologies for in-depth characterization of biologic reference standards, analysis of glycosylation heterogeneity and various post-translational modifications (PTM), multi-attribute monitoring (MAM), quantitation of host cell proteins (HCPs) and rapid identification of microorganisms in pharmaceuticals.
