Pfizer

Thomas Powers is a Senior Principal Scientist at Pfizer, working in Analytical Research and Development at the Chesterfield, MO location. Thomas obtained his BS in chemistry and BA in economics at Furman University in Greenville, SC. He then attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, where he completed his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences.

Thomas joined Pfizer seven years ago and has worked in both the core Mass Spectrometry group (MSBC) focused on product characterization and the Project Progression Line (PPL) focused on separation sciences. He is currently a group leader in the PPL line is the analytical lead for a late-stage AAV program. Since joining Pfizer, he has developed a wide range of experiences working with multiple modalities, including mAbs, recombinant proteins, ADCs, vaccines, and gene therapy. In addition to supporting several programs, Thomas has been involved in the development of broader analytical strategies within Pfizer, focused on analytical comparability, automation, software utilization, MAM, and technology and innovation.
