Simon Dalla Torre di Sanguinetto

Simon Dalla Torre is a trained biotechnologist who obtained his PhD in developmental neurobiology from the Biozentrum of the University of Basel. Since 2009, he has been working at the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products (Swissmedic). In 2019, he was appointed Head of the division Regulatory Operations and Development within the Authorisation sector. His division is responsible for managing Swissmedic’s network of external experts, continuously improving authorisation processes, coordinating scientific and regulatory exchange with external stakeholders (e.g. through the Roundtable Regulatory Affairs), monitoring performance indicators in the authorisation area, and overseeing political initiatives related to the marketing authorisation of medicinal products. In addition to his professional activities, he obtained an MSc in Regulatory Affairs for Biopharmaceuticals and ATMPs (EUCRAF, 2016).
