Mostafa Abuzeid

Dr. Mostafa A. Atia is a Bioanalytical Scientist at CSL in Melbourne, Australia, specializing in capillary electrophoresis, biopharmaceutical characterization, and advanced separation sciences. He completed his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Tasmania and subsequently undertook postdoctoral research at the Australian Centre for Research on Separation Science (ACROSS) within Professor Michael Breadmore's internationally recognized research group, where he focused on innovative portable analytical technologies and separation methodologies. Following his postdoctoral research, Dr. Atia lectured in Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry at Capital University in Cairo, Egypt, teaching and mentoring undergraduate students while maintaining active research collaborations. He subsequently joined CSL, where he supports the development and characterization of biotherapeutics using advanced analytical technologies. Dr. Atia's career reflects a strong commitment to bridging academia and industry, combining academic research and teaching with experience in pharmaceutical development, validation, laboratory accreditation, and regulatory assessment. His expertise includes capillary electrophoresis, protein characterization, method development, analytical troubleshooting, and the application of separation science to complex biopharmaceutical challenges. Dr. Atia has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and is an inventor on patented analytical technologies. He previously presented at CE Pharm 2021 as part of the Emerging Professionals Session and is currently collaborating with SCIEX through the Thought Leader Program, supporting the evaluation of next-generation capillary electrophoresis technologies for biopharmaceutical applications. His current interests focus on advancing separation-based approaches for the characterization and understanding of complex biotherapeutic products.
