Lisa Haflett

Lisa Haflett has over 30 years of Engineering Project Management experience ranging from commercial, aerospace, ship building, and pharmaceutical. At Merck for 25 years, Lisa is now an Executive Director within Global Biologics Operations. She currently serves as Capital Project Team Leader for Merck’s $1B Wilmington Biotech Facility Build located in Wilmington, DE. In that role, Lisa is responsible for interfacing between the Capital Project Design/Execution Team and the Global Biologics Operating Unit. She is accountable for the capital project budget, schedule, risk management, communication, site developer interface, safety, quality, permitting, local government affairs, recruiting, hiring, and community relations. Lisa’s previous roles within Merck include Executive Director of Global Engineering Solutions (GES) as the End-to-End Solutions lead responsible for Business Integration, Commissioning and Qualification, Merck Production Systems (MPS), and Start-up Excellence all within the GES Capital Execution team. As a Project Portfolio Director in Global Engineering, she managed a wide variety of complex fast-paced bulk vaccine and biologics manufacturing projects. Lisa also served as Chief of Staff for the Manufacturing Systems Design and Commercialization (MSDC) Organization where she was responsible for managing communications, metrics, and connections to the biologics and vaccine strategy. She is actively involved in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). Lisa has a passion for mentoring and has participated in multiple workshops and panel discussions on career pathing, work-life integration, women in construction, and how to build a personal network. Lisa also served the co-lead of a Global Science Engineering & Commercialization (GSEC) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.
