Kawa Chiu

Ms. Kawa Chiu has over two decades of broad biotechnology industry experience across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and Strategy. Ms. Chiu is the Vice President of Supply Chain at Lyell Immunopharma. She built Lyell’s supply chain capabilities and CMC program management that advanced several programs into the clinics. She also led the design and implementation of an integrated e-system strategy to manage the complexity of autologous cell therapy supply chain.

Prior to Lyell, Ms. Chiu held various senior leadership positions at Genentech and Roche including Head of Global Planning, Head of Pharma Technical Operations Strategy, Head of Global Operational Excellence, and Head of Drug Substance Manufacturing. Ms. Chiu started her career at Merck with increasing responsibilities in Manufacturing, Quality and Lean Six Sigma Projects.

Ms. Chiu received a B.S. in Operations Management from the Ohio State University, a M.S. in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from New York University. She is pursuing a M.P.H. in Health Policy from the University of California, Berkeley.
