Joanne McBane

Dr. Joanne McBane is a Biologist/Evaluator at the Centre for Blood, Blood Products, and Biotherapeutics (CBBB) within the Biologic and Radiopharmaceutical Drugs Directorate (BRDD) at Health Canada. She earned her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa in 2008 and possesses postdoctoral research experience in biomaterials, diabetes, and clinical HIV research. Since joining BRDD in 2021, Dr. McBane has played an active role in the regulatory quality assessment of the CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) dossiers for a diverse range of biotherapeutic products. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, curling in the winter, and baking.
