Jamie Strand

Jamie Strand, Ph.D. is Vice President of Technical Operations at NextPoint Therapeutics (Cambridge, MA), where he oversees end to end chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) and protein science in support of precision immuno oncology programs across the entire portfolio. His work integrates process development, analytical method qualification, and phase appropriate GMP operations to translate novel immune evasion biology and tumor targeting into clinical grade therapeutics. Current efforts focus on the B7-H7 axis, including first in class antibody programs designed to reverse tumor microenvironment–mediated suppression and tumor-targeting therapies. Prior to NextPoint, he held scientific and CMC leadership roles at Surface Oncology, Amgen, Acceleron Pharma, Percivia, and Wyeth Research, spanning CMC, analytical development and protein characterization over the past 25 years advancing more than 15 programs across clinical and commercial-stage development. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a B.S. in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry from the University of Iowa. His professional interests include pragmatic CMC design and strategy for complex biologics, product-quality focused process development, and accelerating development to enhance speed-to-clinic of novel therapies.
