Guadalupe Hayes-Mota
Guadalupe Hayes-Mota is the Director of Bioethics at Santa Clara University’s Markkula Center for Applied Ethics and a Senior Lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he teaches biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and healthcare operations. A globally recognized executive and scholar, Hayes-Mota bridges technology, policy, and ethics to advance equitable access to medicine. He is the founder and former CEO of Healr Solutions, an AI-driven company that optimized global drug distribution systems in 43 countries. His leadership roles at Biogen, Amgen, and GSK influenced supply-chain operations reaching billions of patients worldwide, and he contributed to implementing the Affordable Care Act with the Obama Administration. Appointed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to the NIH Cures Acceleration Network Board, Hayes-Mota also advises OpenAI on use of AI in healthcare. His research explores generative AI, natural language processing, and deep learning in medicine.
