Graeme Price

Graeme Price, PhD, is Chief of Gene Therapy Branch 5 in CBERs Office of Gene Therapy. After receiving a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Birmingham, UK for studies on the mechanism of fever in influenza, he continued to pursue his research interests in viral pathogenesis and antiviral immunity in the Molecular Immunology Program at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Price joined CBER as a researcher-reviewer in 2006. His expertise is in immunology, virology, and biological safety, with research interests focused on universal vaccine approaches to influenza. Following a lengthy research career, he transitioned to full-time review work, first as a Team Lead and subsequently as Chief of GTB5. He currently supervises a team of reviewers, whose regulatory focus is review of preIND, IND, and BLA submissions for human cell and gene therapy products, particularly ex vivo gene modified cells. He serves on multiple CBER internal working and policy groups and has chaired BLAs for CAR T cells and hematopoietic stem cell-based products.
