Birgit Schmauser

Dr. Birgit Schmauser is a senior assessor of pharmaceutical quality at the German Regulatory Authority (BfArM) in the Unit “Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Biologicals, Inspections”.
She studied pharmacy at the University of Munich and holds a PhD from
Berlin Free University. She has scientific and regulatory experience of many years. Her expertise and profound knowledge in glycobiology optimally apply in evaluation of biotechnology-derived medicinal products including investigational medicinal products.
For several years she has been a temporary adviser for the World Health Organisation (WHO) in a prequalification programme.
