Bijoyita Roy

Dr. Bijoyita Roy is leading RNA and DNA process development at Moderna Therapeutics. Her background is in mRNA biology, RNA and DNA technology evaluation and introduction, for mRNA medicines. Before joining Moderna, Dr. Roy was leading a research team at New England Biolabs, where she developed technologies for therapeutic and vaccine-related RNA synthesis and focused on dsRNA generation in IVT and impact of chemical modifications on RNA synthesis and protein synthesis fidelity. She previously worked at PTC Therapeutics studied targeting of RNA process with small molecule compounds. Dr. Roy earned her PhD from the University of Tennessee and has authored multiple publications on mRNA translation, pseudouridylation, RNA decay, and therapeutic RNA design in journals including PNAS, Cell Reports, RNA, and Trends in Genetics.
