Benjamin Looker
Ben received his B.S. in Biochemistry from George Mason University in 2016 and his Master’s in Bio-Inorganic Chemistry from Cornell University in 2019. He has worked on several successful regulatory submissions for biologics during the past five years as a Scientist at AstraZeneca, focusing wherever possible on leveraging structural insights from mass spectrometry to inform early- and late-stage biotherapeutic characterization. His current focus is how to best integrate the fast-growing data science landscape with MS techniques to enable agile and efficient response to the regulatory and development landscape. His experience is primarily in bottom-up analysis (peptide mapping, intact fragments, disulfide mapping), and he is interested in MS tools which allow direct interrogation of native oligomeric states and conformations (convex-TIMS, I2MS/CDMS), as well as indirect measurements of the same utilizing chemical labels (HDX, FPOP, etc).
