Dr. George Thompson received a B.S. from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and then a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona, where she studied structure and function of metalloproteins from Gram negative bacteria. After a brief postdoc adventure in X-ray crystallography at Rosalind Franklin University with Jun-yong Choe, she joined the Discovery Protein Mass Spectrometry Group at AbbVie in 2016. In 2020, Dr. George Thompson moved to Development Sciences, where she uses forced degradation and mass spectrometry to assess chemical modifications of potential therapeutic proteins to rank candidates and assess their developability. She is interested in all aspects of protein design, development, and analysis.
